Welcome

I am available for author talks and creative writing workshops to groups of children and adults during the day or evenings. I am passionate about sharing the message of how technology opens possibilities for us all to communicate our ideas and I love the opportunity of empowering others to do so.

Whilst I mostly publish for children, the material covered in my talks is just as applicable to adult fiction, non-fiction, writing memoir or whatever else you’re wanting to share with a wider audience.

Creative Writing Workshops

As an experienced published author I run creative writing workshops for groups of students and adults. I guide groups through the writing process from the initial brainstorming of ideas, to choosing themes, selecting characters, viewpoint and place, story-boarding and then drafting and editing stories. I can also co-ordinate illustration work to combine text and image layouts. This leads naturally on to the publication of their work using the Adobe Professional Suite and Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing.

Working with Catching Lives

From 2014-2019 I worked with disadvantaged clients at Catching Lives homeless charity run creative writing sessions that led to the development of their own Harbledown book series.

Highlights of this work included running interactive writing workshops at Catching Lives’ Literary Festival as part of European Union LitFest funding and travelling to France to run sessions at their literary festival, sharing creative ideas simultaneously in French and English.

I have also presented to NHS practitioners at Social Enterprise Kent’s event on the importance of the creative arts to the well-being of the homeless community.
